Testimonials
"‘Attending the West Marin Fiddle Camp has been an absolutely amazing experience! I've attended 3 camps so far. It’s a truly special place for anyone looking to deepen their musical journey—whether you're learning new songs or honing your ability to play by ear. The camp creates a nurturing and inspiring environment where musical growth happens naturally and joyfully.
One of the standout features is the kids program. Our first year I joined my son who was interested in music and sat in the kids program, it was warm and welcoming and a great way for us to share time together and get introduced to fiddle tunes. It was a great first step for us to grow as musicians. The kids program is thoughtfully designed to be both engaging and challenging, with a perfect balance of structured music learning and playful downtime. What makes it even more meaningful is how it allows parents and children to share in the musical experience together, while also giving each the space to grow independently as students.'
The food was delicious, the teachers were phenomenal, and the evenings filled with music and dancing were unforgettable. I can’t recommend West Marin Fiddle Camp enough—it’s a place where music, community, and joy come together in the most beautiful way. I am looking forward to my next West Marin Fiddle Camp experience. ‘

“I am an alum of the first annual camp that just ended two days ago. What a great experience. Some things of note: fantastic music, the best food ever, hawks making lazy circles in the sky, evening campfires, lots of adorable kids, cottontail bunnies all around, great teachers - Reeb Willms and Caleb Klauder for me, dancing at night, buttered popcorn, plums ripe for the picking, more amazing music/teachers - Riley Baugus, Dirk Powell, Irena Eide, Caroline Oakley, Simon Leone, Amelia Powell and distant ocean views.
The setting is in the Commonweal Gardens in Bolinas, CA, outside of town by a 10 minute drive. Beautiful drive from San Francisco and the East Bay. Irena and Dirk kept the size of the camp small enough to provide an intimate feeling among campers and teachers, yet big enough to have an eclectic mix of people. Music styles ranged from Old Time to Honky Tonk to Cajun.
I LOVED my experience there! Thanks to Irena and Dirk who made it happen.”
